Run Alpha Online

Here’s how to get started:

Running Alpha online couldn’t be simpler and allows you to invite guests who might not be able to attend in person. What’s more we’ve found in 2022 non-Christians find anonymity appealing when trying something new.

Please do read our Read our E-Safety Best Practices which help you with E-Safety as you run your course online.

Create an account or register your new course on MyAlpha where you can find:

  • Episodes of the Alpha Film Series

  • AFS trailers (got 2 new ones!)

  • Discussion guides

  • Training materials including bitesize training videos which you can WhatsApp to your Alpha team

  • Promotional materials

  • AlphaNow

Try AlphaNow our brand new, free, video call platform which makes running Alpha even easier. You can:

  • Watch the AFS episodes together as a group

  • A chat function that has increased safeguarding features

  • Allows you to create groups and select hosts from an easy to use dashboard

To learn how to get started or for any questions, simply visit this support page which includes a helpful chat function.

Get the whole church involved

In the build up to your course, it’s a great idea to take time in your regular church service to engage your congregation with Alpha. Here are four simple steps to involve the whole church:

Stories: Ask people in your congregation to share their previous experiences of Alpha so others are encouraged. If they feel comfortable, ask them to share their story with us here

Teaching: Alpha is all about helping people discover Jesus – take time in your Sunday services to focus on the power and potential of evangelism

Invitation: The best invite is a personal invite – encourage your congregation to think about who they can invite and even better, who they can bring along with them to Alpha

Prayer: Prayer is at the heart of Alpha, ask your whole congregation to pray about who they can invite, for the team, and for the guests
