I am writing to you from Alpha as we have some exciting developments. I would love to inform you first about how more people are coming to faith through Alpha than ever before in the UK and I am delighted to be joining the team as National Director of Alpha UK (alongside my existing role at HTB) to continue this momentum. I want to introduce myself and to ask for your help as I seek to ensure Alpha does all that it can to support and encourage your church.
We have a vision to give every person in the UK the opportunity to discover and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. It would be so helpful to hear how Alpha is going at your church? What has worked well? What has been challenging? Maybe you have innovative ideas for how we could develop Alpha so as to make the greatest impact across the UK? Perhaps there is a story of someone coming to faith through Alpha at your church which is particularly powerful? I also want to ensure you have access to the very latest invitation materials. These are designed to equip churches to maximise the potential impact of Alpha, by helping people to invite their friends onto your Alpha course. Our latest research has shown that one of peoples’ greatest obstacles to responding to an Alpha invite is that they don’t know what it will be like when they turn up. In response, we have created a new short film that gives an idea of what Alpha is like for someone when they come along. You can watch and download the video once logged in here.
This is the first in a series of refreshed resources; short videos, social media assets, posters and more intended to serve your church by giving a potential guest an idea of the culture of Alpha before they walk through the door. We can’t wait to share these with you soon!
